Authentication

Every piece is verified before it ships.

"Authenticated" is a word a lot of resale sites use loosely. On Provenance, it means a specific, repeatable process — the same one, every time, on every piece, before it's ever listed for sale.

The process

What actually happens before a listing goes live.

01

Brand Eligibility

We only accept approved luxury brands that meet our marketplace standards.

02

Listing Quality

Every listing is reviewed for accurate descriptions, clear imagery, and complete product information.

03

Condition Standards

Items are categorized using our standardized condition guide, giving buyers a consistent understanding of wear and quality.

04

Documentation

Seller-provided authenticity certificates, receipts, invoices, and other supporting documents are displayed whenever available.

Condition, defined

What each grade actually means.

01

New

Unused and unworn. In pristine condition with no signs of wear. Original tags and packaging may or may not be present.

02

Excellent

Exceptional condition with little to no visible signs of wear. Original materials, hardware, and craftsmanship remain fully intact, with no repairs or alterations.

03

Very Good

Gently used and well cared for. Minor signs of wear may be present and are clearly documented in the listing, with no impact on functionality or structure.

04

Good

Noticeable signs of use while remaining structurally sound and fully functional. Any scratches, marks, wear, or previous repairs are clearly disclosed in the listing, so you know exactly what to expect.
